Improved Sleep Quality Linked to Regular Practice of Sudarshan Kriya Yoga (SKY): Evidence from a Cross-Sectional Study

In a study of 385 adults (mean age 42.5 years; 241 women), researchers investigated the relationship between Sudarshan Kriya Yoga (SKY) practice frequency and sleep quality. Results showed that individuals practicing SKY more frequently had significantly lower odds of poor sleep quality (OR = 0.52; 95% CI = 0.28–0.94; p for trend = 0.03), even after adjusting for covariates. These findings suggest that regular yogic breathing practice may improve sleep quality and highlight the need for further controlled investigations to confirm these effects.
